How did you get started in CrossFit?
“I started CrossFit about 8 years ago in Ridgefield, CT when it was just emerging. We moved up to Litchfield and I was desperate to find a CrossFit gym. That’s when I found Override…I was immediately impressed by the size of the box and the really strong and positive coaching that Nick, Marsh and Eric bring. I do drop-ins at CrossFit boxes in a lot of different locations when I travel and I’ve never found one with such a positive vibe.”
“My first Override PR was a legless rope climb. It was ugly but I finally made it up and down. I’ve still got a lot to work on. Front squats continue to be a major goat for me but I’m working on it and making slow progress.”
When asked about his favorite Override Memory Tom said this:
“An off site swim WOD with Marsh. He wanted to try a 2 mile swim so we headed out to my lake house and dove in on a Saturday morning. We got about 100 yards out and he realized he had his phone on him … he finished the swim but his phone didn’t survive!”
